So I was thinking about the stupid things I've done, you've done, we have all done. And I was wondering "was it worth it"? SO that is my question to you....
This is a place where we can say what we did and whether or not it was worth doing. Maybe we can feel better, or help someone else.
I'll go first. So I heard about investing in real estate to help be wealthy someday. I knew it wasnt a get rich quick way to do it so it must be ok. The first house we got was in Arizona, a foreclosure. Not a bad deal, a nice house. Things would have been ok if we stopped there. But we got greedy. It was so easy. We ended up with 4 houses! I felt like we were playing monopoly.
Then the bubble bursts. We were right in the thick of things. Lost one house after the a/c went out and the tenant went crazy (100 degrees, I dont blame her). The next house the renter broke up with her boyfriend and couldnt pay and wouldnt leave. Thank God we sold it. Now we have another where the tenant didnt pay on time and so we are behind on our payments. We need to get a buyer to get rid of it ASAP. So NO it was not worth it. If we would have saved all that money we would be so much better off. Live and learn.
